In regard to heading No. 5, we urge that

the regulations as laid down here would be quite prohibitive

if enforced, as regards our owerhead lines, if the conditions

we work under be taken into consideration, and we can only

suggest that the regulations that bear on this point, were drawn

up for extra high tension long distance transmission lines in

England.

In conclusion we beg to suggest that if the

Board of Trade Regulations cited in your letter are embodied in

the proposed local ordinance, the Director of Public Works be

empowered to modify any clauses in the regulations to suit

local conditions.
